The Centrepiece is a family run gift shop.

David and Carol Pleming came over from Ireland to establish The Centrepiece in 1983. Having run a shop there for any years, David developed his gifts as a photographer and established Peter David Photography and so the two businesses developed side by side in Spilsby. Their daughter Sharon, now runs The Centrepiece....

Having visited the Archives in Lincoln it was discovered that the coffee shop was once a candle house. However, we suspect that this part of the building is not now original. What is original is the main body of the shop-area 1621 with it's support beams still intact and visible in the shop. The rest of the building is understood to be Victorian. We have had the roof relined under the local heritage scheme and it was fascinating to see the crooked beams and roof supports that had warped as a result of being 'green' when put up.

In winter we have our coal fire burning - just the thing for a cold winters day!
